Yoga Therapy- Info and Survey
What is Yoga Therapy?
I have been asked this question many times. The first time that I ever heard of Yoga therapy was a few years ago. I held a workshop here at Loredana Yoga studio. The workshop consisted of an hour of Ayurveda practice and basic understanding, and 45 minute of Yoga Therapy and it's benefits. I found it to be so amazing and fascinating, because I suffer from back pain and so many others on this planet do as well. But that was not just it , there 's so much more you can gain from this form of yoga.. Typically Yoga Therapy would be a one -on one session. The yoga therapist will do a physiological assessment of the student to Taylor a practice appropriate to the student's needs. So here I have a few descriptions on "Yoga Therapy"
Yoga Therapy is based on the fundamentals of yoga practices, for people with health challenges.
Yoga therapists prescribe specific Asana or postures, breathing exercises, for the individual student's needs.
Yoga therapy is among the most effective complementary therapies for several common aliments. The
challenges may be an illness, a temporary condition like pregnancy or childbirth, or a chronic
condition associated with old age or trauma. Yoga Therapy is also for students with sport injuries.
Athletes such as runners, swimmers, and golfers, to name a few. Many yoga therapist have helped
service men and women, rehabilitating from PTS Post Traumatic Syndrome. Yoga therapy adapts the
practice of Yoga to the needs of people with specific or persistent health problems not usually
addressed in a group class.
